Hoppin’ Hoodie is a fabulous Lionhead rabbit who will quickly steal your heart!
Hoodie was originally spotted running loose in a field, and he was clearly not a wild rabbit. The couple who spotted him were able to catch him in the field by making a “basket” with a hoodie, hence the name! The couple welcome him home where he enjoyed a life of indoor free roaming. After a few years and the addition of a baby, the home became too busy to give Hoodie the attention he deserved and the pet guardians reached out to Our Companions to help. We welcomed him to our Small Animal Cottage in November of 2024.

Hoodie has a mild, respectful, and kind temperament with a very mellow vibe. As Hoodie has settled in, he has enjoyed being held on a lap and will cuddle up on your chest if he knows you. Shy mannered Hoodie shared his room with a few different bonded pairs but never showed any signs he wanted to interact with them, and at times appeared stressed with other rabbits. Given his reserved behavior, we moved another rabbit, Hunny, into his room. Hunny did not seem to enjoy interacting with other rabbits either, so we assumed they would just enjoy the quiet space independently. To our pleasant surprise, staff soon noticed the pair hanging out close to each other, although in separate pens. Hunny and Hoodie spent a lot of time kissing through the gates of their habitat areas and would often be found hanging out side by side. After a few weeks of this behavior, we began introducing them without barriers. The two love buns have completely come out of their shells and enjoy lots of daily playdates together! Seeing their confidence grow and watching their bond flourish, we now want to keep the two together forever. Just like our adoptions, it’s all about the right match!
