Featured Pets: Ariel, Tiana, and Jasmine

Three small kittens were found alongside their mom at an abandoned apartment. They were rescued by local animal control, but were brought to a foster home to provide more attention and care until they were placed. Our Companions was then contacted for further assistance and we welcomed the family of four to our Sanctuary in November of 2023.

Prior to their arrival, the mother was named Minnie, but her kittens were never officially named. Coincidentally, our brand new cat cottage is named “Minnie’s Mews” and that’s where they resided when they first arrived! When we finally welcomed the family, we noticed that the three kittens were practically identical! Estimated to be around 8 weeks old, they were so small and had very similar markings and colors. Trying to identify who was who was quite the challenge. Therefore, it only seemed right to name them Minnie’s Mews! Of course, this name was temporary until they grew a bit bigger and their markings were more distinguished.

When that time finally came, our team decided to go for a Disney theme thanks to mama being named Minnie. The kittens were each named after a Disney princess- Ariel, Tiana, and Jasmine! Ariel’s colors were a bit darker than the other two girls. To differentiate between Tiana and Jasmine, they both have a dark ring around their necks, however Jasmine had a complete ring around her neck and Tiana had an open ring. Every day as the kittens were getting older, it was fun to learn more about each of their personalities that helped identify which princess was who!

Our Cat Team did such incredible work helping the kittens receive all the playtime, socialization, and care they needed to thrive! Having experienced all that they have been through in such a short amount of time did make them a bit skittish and shy. At our Sanctuary, our staff and volunteers went slow with interactions, making sure we were taking things at their own pace. Playing with the kittens were a big contributor in helping them have fun and feel safe around people! They are very curious, and though loud noises can sometimes be a bit scary, they all recover quickly and are ready for more playtime! Ariel, Tiana, and Jasmine also love relaxing in their cat tree, their beds, or might even find a lap to claim!

Now that they’re ready to leave their mother Minnie, we would love to see Ariel, Tiana, and Jasmine together in a home together! They all give each other the confidence, reassurance, and company to be happy and fulfilled kittens! They’re all spayed, healthy, and have so much love and life to give to that special someone. With some patience and playtime, all three kittens will thrive with their new family! They would appreciate a calm home where they can have lots of playtime and time to bond.
