A Cut Above – August Sanctuary Update
Hi Everyone!
There’s been a slight chill in the morning air and I see some yellow leaves starting to hit the ground. Summer is beginning to come to a close. And with it, another season of mowing and trimming and weeding is coming to a close. It’s lots of work keeping this property well maintained for all of the staff and volunteers, and of course, the animals. I’m so impressed and grateful every year for the dedicated yard care volunteers who sacrifice big chunks of their summer to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for the work we do with our animal guests. I’d like to send a big thank you to Jeff, Rick, Lisa, Adam, Dustin, Tom, Michelle, Erika, and Katie. We couldn’t do our work here without their dedication and effort.

Leading the charge with all of this work has been Mario, our Facilities Caretaker. His dedication to making sure all of our equipment is in good working order and coordinating our yard care efforts has helped make the sanctuary the lovely place to work and volunteer that it is. At the end of August, Mario decided to return to the world of full time facilities management. We will miss his effort and his great attitude here at the sanctuary. And Neo will miss him most of all!!

Vinny’s View
For those who have met me over the last several weeks, one thing is immediately obvious: I like to EAT! And I’m definitely not alone here with that! But more important than just filling our tummies is making sure we get the right food for our nutritional needs. That can be pricey! Luckily, Our Companions has the best network of supporters around to keep me and all of the furry guests here comfortable and well fed. This September, we’re bringing those efforts front and center with our annual Feed the Beasts Challenge! Just use the QR codes or links below to go to our Feed the Beasts Amazon Wish Lists and purchase some items for the hungry critters here at the sanctuary. Whichever team surpasses their wish list dollar goal by the largest amount wins!! We’ve also got some other contests and trophies up for grabs, so keep an eye out on our social media and email updates to participate. Now, it’s time for me to get back to my next snack!!
Catch you later!
Vinny

And of Course…Adoptions!!
We’ve had a fun end to the summer with a little bump in adoption activity. In small animals hamsters Frog, Moose, and Duck all went to their new homes, as did best bunny, Rhea! In cats, Latte, Daisy, and Olive all went home while the intoxicating pair of Margarita and Martini joined our crew!

Thank you all so much for whatever way you support us and our mission. We couldn’t do it without you.
