Ziggy has landed at our Sanctuary, in need of a stable environment and a little TLC. Now 7-years-old, Ziggy survived a house fire as a kitten. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but we believe the experience may have left a lasting impact on him. After the family moved to a new home, Ziggy began to struggle with inappropriate urination outside of his litterboxes. The family made efforts to manage the situation, but Ziggy eventually became an indoor/outdoor cat to alleviate the indoor potty issues. With another move on the horizon, the family reached out to us to help. In June 2025, we were able to welcome Ziggy to our Sanctuary.
Understandably a bit timid, Ziggy has been adjusting more each day to Sanctuary life. He is cautious when exploring and startles at loud noises, but he’s definitely not shy when it comes to mealtimes – Ziggy eats like a champ! We recently discovered that he enjoys watching videos of birds. One of our staff members played one for him, and he was completely engaged with watching and listening. It even seemed to relax him as he eventually curled up with his head next to the phone with his eyes closed. We are ecstatic to have Ziggy with us and are excited to keep learning what brings him comfort and happiness.
