A cat, we now call Vinny, originally showed up as a stray within a managed community cat colony. The colony caretaker noticed this new cat looked very unwell and thin and promptly brought him to the vet. Vinny had a fever, a urinary tract infection, and was diabetic. The caretaker took Vinny to her home to care for him for the time being. She contacted Our Companions to further assist with his long-term care. Once a room was available, we were able to assist in taking Vinny under our care.
We welcome Vinny to our Sanctuary to receive some much-needed TLC and to get his diabetes under control. Our vet estimated Vinny to be about 5 years old. So far he has been a champ taking his insulin and settling in with us. He’s even opened the bakery for biscuit making accompanied by sweet, loud purrs! We are so happy to open our doors to this sweet boy and can’t wait to help him feel his best.
