Neptune came to Our Companions after experiencing challenges in his previous homes. Neptune had a few miss-matched home environments before making his way to our Sanctuary, and we hope to get to know the real Neptune now that he can blossom in a more controlled environment. His first pet guardian re-homed him due to potty issues, potentially from stress. He was re-homed to a busy household with multiple pets, and Neptune had a hard time acclimating. Because of this, Neptune lived secluded in the basement. His potty issues continued, and he also had skin issues from over-grooming. These potty issues and over grooming often happen with stress and we feel with a little time and TLC, Neptune will blossom and we will get a better insight on his perfect match.

This beautiful Bengal boy is 9.5 years old. His over-grooming probably became a habit in his previous homes so he wears a soft, flexible cone to prevent further skin issues while we help assess and address the behavior. When staff and volunteers are visiting with him, we give him playtimes and snuggles without his cone as we are able to monitor his grooming behaviors. Neptune enjoys meeting new people, flopping on laps, playing with wire mouse toys, and using his cat scratchers like a pro! We are excited to see Neptune’s progress and to help him thrive in this next chapter of life.
