Our Companions was contacted to assist with a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative for an unmanaged community cat colony. Because many community cats are true outdoor cats, the most responsible way to help them is to prevent further breeding while continuing to care for the existing colony. Adult cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, and then returned to their home territory. During this TNR effort, two 8-week-old kittens were taken in by the colony’s caretaker and eventually brought to our Sanctuary, where they are continuing to socialize and learn to bond with people.

Trapped on Independence Day, we welcomed Indie and Sizzle to the Sanctuary in early July. They are already making great strides – playing with people and rubbing on legs. Sizzle has even licked baby food from a staff member’s finger! We know our Cat Team will work their magic with these two and we look forward to learning more about their personalities! Welcome Indie and Sizzle!
