Featured Pets: Marceline & Waffles

Prior to their arrival to our Sanctuary, a college student adopted Waffles and Marceline in the fall of 2021. The bunnies made great companions and study buddies for their pet guardian, but three years later, their owner realized her partner had allergies to her rabbits and she needed to find them a new, loving home. She wanted to ensure they remained together and reached out to Our Companions for help, where we welcomed them to our Sanctuary in August of 2024 around 8 years old.
Waffles, the more outgoing and spirited of the pair, has learned to love being held like a little baby. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have a bunny snuggle into your arms, Waffles is the perfect candidate! Marceline can be shy at first, but with some patience, she will warm up to her new friends and loves greeting them when they come to say hello! Both buns are sweet, funny, active, and are often always by each other’s side. When comfortable , both buns don’t mind even dressing up in cute outfits! This dynamic between them is a beautiful example of how a bonded pair can support and enrich each other’s lives. They bring out the best in one another and complement each other perfectly!
In addition to their deep emotional connection, Waffles and Marceline also share a mutual love for delicious snacks and treats. There’s something incredibly endearing about the way their eyes light up when they spot a tasty snack. They are quick to show their appreciation for their treats, with Waffles sometimes even doing little binkies of joy as he accepts his favorite snack. Marceline, with her calmer demeanor, is equally as enthusiastic, nibbling delicately as she enjoys every bite. Their excitement over these little rewards shows how much they cherish the moments they share with their human friends, and it’s impossible not to smile at their enthusiasm.
