Please give a warm welcome to our newest canine guest, Eddy! This handsome 3-year-old boy was found abandoned in the woods in a crate, showing clear signs of neglect. With overgrown nails and severely matted fur, it took 3 people at the vet and about 2.5 hours to carefully shave all the mats, which resulted in about 6lbs of fur removed. Once he was medically cleared, he was adopted to a home, however both Eddy and the adopters were experiencing challenges with the transition. Though Eddy appeared better he still had a lot of understandable behaviors that were difficult for Eddy to handle and for the adopters to understand. It was clear he needed further mental help with the trauma he endured.
Our Companions was contacted for assistance with providing Eddy the rehabilitation and care he needs to work through his past experiences and fear. We are so grateful to open our doors to Eddy and help provide him the tools he needs to navigate the world around him safely, happily, and confidently. We love being able to provide the compassion, time, patience, and care he needs to thrive. Welcome to the Sanctuary family, Eddy!
