Sweetness and cuteness all in one, welcome Maple!
Surrendered to a municipal shelter by her previous pet guardian at 3 years-young, Maple started her OC journey with us in the Adopt-A-Shelter Program! This program pairs local Animal Control Officers with trained canine volunteers to provide training and enrichment opportunities to dogs in municipal shelters.
Though she was in great hands, Maple wasn’t doing well in the shelter and needed some extra TLC to thrive. When we were able to open a new room, we were able to welcome Maple into our OC arms even more! Maple is a gorgeous reddish hound mix with the best ears around town. She also came to us a bit overweight, but we have our underwater treadmill and miles of on-site trails at the Sanctuary campus! We will also consult with our vet team to ensure there is nothing medical with her weight gain and no treadmills until she is fully comfortable. Luckily playing in the dog yards and going on walkies keeps her quite happy! We’re glad to have had the space to welcome Maple to our Sanctuary where we can give her the love, time, and skills she needs to live life to the fullest before finding her next loving home and family.
