Scooter

Sweet, and a little sleepy, Scooter is an awesome companion who loves to spread the love!

Scooter, an albino ferret, turned 3-years-old this May, 2025. He was surrendered to an Animal Control Municipal Shelter who reached out to Our Companions for help with his care and eventual adoption. Since we had recently opened our Small Animal Cottage with a specialized ferret section, we were able to give him the proper housing and overall care. We welcomed him to our ferret room in December 2024.

Scooter is the most tranquil ferret we’ve ever met! He adores being held, cradled like a baby, and will happily fall asleep in your arms. His number one motivation is cuddle time! He doesn’t seem thrilled to play with our active ferret boys currently and prefers the gentle interactions of staff and volunteers. Scooter does like to play in the ball pit or run around with a plushy toy from time to time, and is pretty easy with his energy outlet needs. We noticed some masses around Scooters face and chest, and promptly took him to an exotics vet to be examined. Suspected to be mast cell tumors (MCT), Scooter underwent surgery to successfully remove the masses. He has recovered wonderfully and it hasn’t seem to dull his curious spirit!
