Adoption Update – Bruce

Who remembers this big guy?! Bruce has been loving his new life since he went home in the Fall of 2017!

This enormous, yet somehow surprisingly short Mastiff mix (perhaps Mastiff with dwarfism?!) came to us from Cherry Brook Kennels after being transported from Miami, Florida. He moved into the Sanctuary and everyone quickly fell in love with this charming guy!

Joann was an adopter who had been patiently waiting for the perfect pup to add to her family. We contacted her about Bruce and he quickly swept her off her feet! It was love at first sight for both of them.

Since then, Joann has continued to spoil Bruce with all the love, toys, and hikes he can ask for! He even gets to have playdates with his buddy Brody, another Our Companions dog!

We recently received this video of Bruce absolutely loving life… his big smile says it all!

Hi! This is Bruce’s mom, JoAnn. Bruce is GREAT. He’s an older guy but you’d never know it. I wanted to say: PLEASE DO NOT let a dog’s older age deter you! Although I’ve had dogs all my life, adopting a dog (or probably any animal) usually will bring to you a companion that already has some training & learned life lessons! Give them a special chance & you WILL be specially surprised & blessed!

Thank you Our Companions for bringing Bruce into my life!

Our Our Companions big, fluffy, black kitty Luna joined us at 8 years old. I asked how agile she was after our visit w her (basically watching her backside as she looked out the window!). The ladies said, “oh… she’s OK”. I understood that to mean- not really. We took her home the next week. She promptly levitated to the kitchen table. That was straight up!
In these last 6 years, we have developed a sign language and lots of words with long eeeeee.
There’s eeeat, hungryyyy, cheeeese, fishieeees and then, there’s oooooouuuuut which really means open the door! I say if we had Luna from a little kitty, she would be driving the car.
We love Luna. Our Companions does a fabulous job!

As an OC dog volunteer I loved both Bruce and Brody! I was thrilled when they were adopted and I am equally thrilled to see this wonderful update! Happy life boys!

I’ve met Bruce. He couldn’t be in a better home. Love him to pieces!
