The ZZ Ferret Band! Meet bonded sisters, Zoe and Zyla!
Ferrets can sleep for over 20 hours, but they still need a lot of fun, enrichment, diligent medical care and dedication from their people. A pet guardian recently reached out after making the difficult decision to find a new home for her two ferret sisters, Zoe and Zyla, noting their need for more attention and care. Another element of the decision was Zoe’s recent diagnosis of an adrenal gland disease which also needed extra TLC and commitment.
With two recent bonded ferret adoptions, our ferret wing was completely empty… very briefly! We were able to welcome Zoe and Zyla to be guests with us at the age of 3.5 years old in March 2026, until a new adoptive home could be found. Soon after Zoe arrived to our small animal cottage, she began treatment for the adrenal gland disease which includes inserting an implant that helps suppress excessive hormone production and alleviates her from symptoms of the disease, like hair loss and itchiness.
We are happy to report the girls are settling well, enjoying their new space, and having lots of ferret fun! Both born in April 2022, Zoe is dark sable while Zyla is light tan with blonde. Another Yin to a Yang! We’re so excited to have you, Zoe & Zyla!
