Life Happens! Planning for Your Pets Webinar
Finding solutions to animal welfare issues has always been a driving factor for Our Companions. Now with over twenty years under our belt and the creation of one of the first Animal Helplines, we can home in on trending issues, like increasing pet homelessness, and create solutions for our communities.
Illness, emergency, or the death of a pet guardian is one of the biggest reasons animals are surrendered or rehomed. When a pet’s owner or guardian is suddenly gone, their life is turned upside down and we often find there is no one to advocate for them – family members only able to keep them temporarily, people are unable to find vet records, or the pets are found by Animal Control. The most common factor in the cases we see is there was no plan in place for the pet, leaving the pet to face abandonment, surrender, or worse.
The simple reality is a shelter is the last place you want you pet to end up after an emergency.

Most people just don’t know the hoops that pop up for your pet after an emergency, illness, or death. People often assume someone else will step in or they simply just don’t understand how inundated and over-capacity most rescues and shelters are now.
In this webinar, you will learn how to plan for your pet, hear real stories from rescue professionals and Animal Control Officers, and get practical tools to start planning for your pet today! Life happens at any age and any stage – it’s important to start the conversation with your friends and family too.
