Periwinkle is a beautiful husky mix with striking eyes and an even more impressive personality! She was found roaming alone by animal control; no pet guardian was ever found so she stayed at the municipal shelter awaiting adoption. Periwinkle and the municipal shelter are part of our Adopt-A-Shelter program where staff and volunteers help evaluate, train, and provide enrichment for shelter pets. Periwinkle is very friendly when meeting new people (we are working on the jumping!) and she absolutely loves her playtimes! This lovely, friendly gal was not getting adoption interest despite the best efforts of the municipal shelter. Being in the confined environment for an extended period, Periwinkle was starting to decline, making her ping our radar for Sanctuary placement.
When a spot opened, Periwinkle was welcomed to the Sanctuary to continue her journey of feeling confident and comfortable in the world, and to find a true forever home! Estimated to have just turned 6 years old (DOB March 2020), Periwinkle takes medication for anxiety, but we hope to focus in more on her health and wellbeing to see what is really best for her now that she is in a more engaging environment. Our Sanctuary might not be a traditional shelter, we try to make it as “homey” has possible, but a true home is always the goal. We look forward to more playtimes and fun with this sweet girl while she is with us and can’t wait to see who her match is.
