Prior to her arrival, Patches lived in a home with her only owner her whole life. She was eventually diagnosed with diabetes and unfortunately, her elderly owner was unable to care for her and made the difficult decision to rehome her. Her vet, hoping that we could offer a space at our Sanctuary, contacted us. It was challenging to find open space, but thanks to our amazing staff, we were able to welcome Patches in September of 2024 at the age of 12. Within her first week of care with us, her blood glucose and ketones are in an acceptable range! She will be receiving regular checks at the vet every two weeks for the next three months to monitor her health and treatment. She’s now in remission with her diabetes and is ready to find a home of her own!
