Mia

Marvelous Mia arrived at our Sanctuary at 6 years old in fall 2025. Her previous pet guardian moved to an assisted living facility and sadly could not take Mia with her. Mia was very loved by her pet guardian and one of her friends tried to adopt Mia. Unfortunately, the resident pets in the home would not accept another kitty which brought Mia to us.

Mia has always been described as shy or timid, and a big change in homelife can really stress our shy leaning kitties the most. Our team will be taking all the necessary steps to ensure Mia feels comfortable with her new environment and friends, going slowly and using Mia’s cues to get to know her. We went slow with her, and after a few months she began to show her calm and confident side. We waited three months to take her to our mobile vet as we didn’t want to push any stressful interactions. In December 2025, Mia was microchipped, examined, and had her vaccinations updated and did quite well! Now special staff members get head butts, lap time, and snuggles from Mia! Send Mia all the love, good thoughts, and strength as she braves this next new chapter! Transitioning again to a new home will take time and patience, but we are seeing what a loving and affectionate companion she can be!
