Maeve is part of our Moo-crew with her darling black and white coloring!
This darling cat, nicknamed “Moo”, lived with her pet guardian for a few years. She was part of a friend’s accidental litter. She enjoyed watching TV with her person and spent her days chasing springs. Unfortunately, her pet guardian’s work life changed causing her to be out of the state for weeks at a time, leaving Moo feeling lonely with her person often away. To get ahead of the upcoming and busier work schedule, she reached out to Our Companions to help re-home her.
Maeve was very confused and rightfully nervous when she first arrived to the Sanctuary at about 2-3 years old, born sometime in 2022. She would hide and hiss, so we gave her ample alone time to decompress and slowly made our presence known. She historically has not liked wet food so we’ve been creative in adding some moisture to her diet and trying every flavor of wet food to find her preference. Safe to say, wand toys were a way to her heart instead of food! We found she loves wands, ribbons, wire mice and worms! We are still getting to know her and making her as comfortable as possible. We aren’t quite ready for cuddles, but we are getting more relaxed postures and eye contact as we continue to allow her to trust us at her pace. We look forward to more playtimes and finding more preferences!
