Iggy

Iggy was sadly found in a basement by a neighbor who was pet-sitting the resident dog. No instructions were left about caring for the chinchilla, but luckily, she was found in good health and probably just in time. The residents of the home wanted to re-home this darling girl anyway, so the kind neighbor took her in and contacted us for help. She was believed to be around 3 years old at the time (Spring 2026).

We were able to offer Iggy a safe space at our Sanctuary after a recent chinchilla adoption. We are still getting to know this lovely chinchilla, but we’re so grateful that we were able to provide Iggy with a safe place to land where she can feel nurtured and loved. We will go at her pace since it’s unknown what stressors she’s had to deal with in her past. Welcome, Iggy!
