With a preference for playtimes and the gift of gab, this boy-kitty is seeking a fun-loving home filled with snuggles too!
Gabby started in our Re-homing Program when one of his pet guardians passed away, prompting the wife to reach out for help with Gabby and finding him a good home. When a room became available, we reached out to see if she’d like to have Gabby live with us until a home was found – and he came up to the Sanctuary soon after! Gabby was incredibly stressed with the carrier (good thing we are pros at carrier training!) but after a couple days he settled into his new routine. It wasn’t long before he was showing staff his cuddly side, becoming quite the king of cuddles! He already knows how to use his cat flap to access his private “catio”, has had lap time and brushes, and explores the halls during some free roam time. He has had some tummy upset, which was seen in his previous home too, so we have started trying Pepcid which has decreased vomiting.
We felt Gabby’s GI troubles were managed for adoption at around 1x week during his time with us, but a new transition can be stressful too. Unfortunately, Gabby came back to us with his GI issues persisting. We keep in touch with all our adopters during the first year to assist in any concerns, transition periods, and for the fun updates too! Although Gabby was well loved in his previous home, it turned out it just wasn’t the right match and the adopter reached out to bring him back to us.
Gabby seemed to remember the Sanctuary and his people friends quickly and was already asking for belly rubs and brushes after only a few days. He remembered how to use his (fully enclosed) catio flap too – enjoying lots of time outside with the breeze and the birds! His routine seems to have settled. We still see some mild & occasional vomiting once or twice a week but he is always in good spirits and will happily invite you into his room for a snuggle! We hope he’s not with us for long, but we love to care for him while he’s here.
