Background Story:

In June of 2019, Ralph’s original owner returned home after being away for two weeks to find that Ralph was very ill.  The owner quickly brought Ralph to the vet where it was discovered that he had a urinary blockage. Unable to afford his care, the owner signed him over to the vet and Ralph had perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery at that time. The operations creates a new urinary opening that decreases the length of the urethra and allows urine to bypass this narrowed region. He joined the Sanctuary after his surgery and had spent quite some time recovering, but eventually made a full recovery. He was adopted over a year later, but unfortunately was not able to get along with another cat in the home and returned to the Sanctuary in July 2021.

It’s been such a joy getting to know Ralph over the years and learning more about his personality and needs. He’s an eccentric, mischievous, bubbly boy that loves to play, work on puzzles, and is always ready for an adventure! He’s very smart and loves to learn new things! The Cat Team works on clicker training with Ralph to give high-fives, jump through hoops, and he’s even one of our cats that enjoys our cat-friendly play yard! Ralph can also be quite affectionate and will gladly give you head-butts, kisses, and purrs! He loves soaking up all the attention! Given his medical history, it’s been difficult to find a home for Ralph, but we’re dedicated to making sure he’s loved, happy, and fulfilled during his time with us.
