Background Story:

“How much is that Duggie in the window?” – priceless!

Dug came to us at around 7 years old at the end of 2025 (DOB 2018) after an unfortunate altercation with a delivery driver which sadly forced his previous family to either rehome him or euthanize him. Since the altercation was not anything that was a real risk to the community, given the unfortunate circumstances, we were able to bring Dug to our Sanctuary instead of the alternative. We are grateful his family reached out to us and we’re able to provide Dug a safe, loving place to land as he navigates his next chapter of his life.

Handsome and kind, Duggie has made wonderful strides in settling in to Sanctuary life as we get to know him and he gets to learn about his new caretakers as well! With continued patience, respect, and love from our Dog Team, Dug has been thriving in his new environment. Duggie has been around kiddos in his previous home, has been dog social during playtimes, and lots of fun on walks around our campus. Now all he needs is a good homelife match for his official adoption! Yay Duggie!

Adoption Info:

"My name is Dug; I have just met you and I love you!" Dug is a true gentleman; he loves to relax on the floor by placing one paw over the other! He may be a 60lb lab mix, but he is a delightful leash walker and always waits at the door. Dug likes to show off his skills by lifting his front paws while sitting. Even at 8 years old, he loves to play with toys (fetch and tug are his favorite!) Because Dug is concerned with the safety of his home and loved ones, he requests a fully fenced yard. Dug has experience with kids, dogs, and is crate and room trained! You won't be sorry to extend a hand - or paw - to this love bug!
