Background Story:

“Ain’t nothing but a hound dog…” But what a hound dog!

Adoption Info:

Meet Dewey: a 3 year-old, 70 lb coonhound that is looking for a single-family home, preferably with another confident, female dog to keep him company (he does not like his alone time!), who doesn't mind sharing her toys and will help him find his courage. Dewey also needs a fenced yard so he can run those pesky squirrels up a tree and roam about using his nose as a guide. Like all hounds, he is sensitive, affectionate, goofy, curious, handsome and vocal. And he loves his couch time! Especially if there is someone nearby to lean against. He can be a bit fearful in new situations and around strangers, so a calm and experienced owner would be the best fit. Dewey is a smart boy who would benefit from additional training. He is crate-trained. No cats, young children or apartments for this lovable and loyal hound.
