Dante deserves the warmest of welcomes. Estimated to be around a year old, Dante was found as an injured stray cat by a Good Samaritan and brought to a local animal shelter. At the shelter, they discovered that he had serious wounds inflicted on his legs and amputation was being considered. Given his current condition and the potential need for extensive medical treatment, Our Companions was contacted to continue his care.
Despite his extensive injuries, Dante seems to be getting around pretty well and has proved to be sweet as pie; showering our staff with lots of affection! He’s been known to flop on your lap for snuggles and pets not long after meeting a new friend. His personality will make you pause in gratitude after all this little guy has been through.
Dante came to the Sanctuary with some medical care for his legs, started at the municipal shelter. He was not with us long before one of his abscesses opened and we rushed him to the vet. During his examination, the vet was impressed with how strong and advantageous he seemed with his healing abilities! Other than his infections, his wounds are stable. They recommend we continue providing medical care for his injuries and observe his healing process before deciding on amputation. Toe beans crossed the healing continues, but we will of course do whatever is in Dante’s best interest. We are beyond grateful we can provide Dante with a stable, nurturing environment where he has the love and support he needs to thrive! Keep Dante in your thoughts during this healing journey!
