Our darling Clementine was brought to an animal control after his owner passed away. We don’t know too much about his life in the home, but he’s estimated to be between 12 – 14 years old. He had to get shaved before coming to the sanctuary, due to a lot of matting. Clementine has been having to work hard on improving his mobility – because of arthritis and weak muscles in his joints, he has difficulty getting around. With a combination of supplements, medications, physical therapy, and good old fashioned exercise, he’s getting more and more comfortable. But he won’t let that stop him from being the cuddliest dude around – he’s an expert headbutt distributor, and loves to gently lay his paws on your lap while sitting next to you on the couch. He’s got a mean mug, but a sweet heart.
Clem has been experiencing a general decline in function this past month, with several close calls. We monitor his symptoms and quality of life each day to make sure he’s still in a good place physically, emotionally, and mentally. We will keep him comfortable as long as we can.
