Charley

In exciting news, chinchillas are some of our first guests at Suzanne’s Place! Four chinchilla brothers made their homes at our Sanctuary: Charley, along with Eddie, and bonded pair Yin and Yang. Prior to opening our small animal cottage in July 2024, Our Companions assisted with re-homing six other chinchillas in the same home through our Rehoming Program, all successfully adopted. Now, with our small animal cottage open, the owners reached out again for assistance with four additional chinchillas. We welcomed Charley, Eddie, Yin, and Yang to our Sanctuary in July of 2024.

Charley was about a year and a half old when he first arrived to the Sanctuary. Though he was nervous and a bit hesitant, Charley slowly started to trust his new friends! He is the most outgoing of the crew, loves to explore his room, and could take dust baths all day every day if he could! He might love food a little too much… but we can’t help but swoon when he takes it from our hand! He started to become more comfortable with petting and enjoys when his friends come to visit. We recently found out they love tunnels when a volunteer created some fun free roam enrichment space. Thank you for all that donate their time, supplies, and experience with these fun companions! We hope to find a home for Charley where he can continue to grow, thrive and shine!
