Carl originally lived in a home with 4 other cats. When their owner passed away they stayed with another family member temporarily before all arriving at the Sanctuary on January 27th, 2018. Likely due to the added stress of the move, Carl had some medical issues that flared up upon his arrival. Diagnosed with Pancreatitis, Carl is now doing much better but managing his condition is still an active process. He was the oldest of his crew – around 15 years old now and the least active. He continues to proudly possess one of the loudest purrs at the Sanctuary. While his other three roommates have flown the coop and found homes of their own, he continues to spend his days relaxing snuggled on his heated pad treating his visitors to his famous purr and welcoming new roommates.
