Background Story:
Butters and his brother Toast were adopted as kittens and lived with their owner for many years up until 2024. Sadly, their owner was facing an illness and had to move in with someone that was allergic to cats. She made the difficult decision to rehome Butters and Toast, and reached out to Our Companions for help. We entered Butters and Toast in our Rehoming Program, then eventually welcomed the pair to our Sanctuary in April of 2024. At that time, Butters was 7-8 years old and Toast was 12 years old.
Butters is a bit shyer than his brother Toast, but he’s been getting more comfortable with his new friends each day. When the cottage is more quiet in the evenings, Butters can be very affectionate and sweet! He loves showing off his playful side when he gets to play with his favorite toy, the plastic ring of a milk cap!

Beautiful Butters looks like a mini Mountain Lion with his handsome, stoic face and giant paws! He has a buttery smooth coat and loves to sit side by side with his person to get pets and love! And those giant paws? He is polydactyl which means “many toes”! This 8ish-year-old love-bug is seeking a loving home as your only cat. He lived with cats in the past, but we found he really came out of his shell as an only pet. Butters will do well in many households with adults or those with older children. Butters enjoys snuggles more than playtime but does like to chase a toy mouse here and there.
