This sweet FIV+ boy was found as a stray in East Hartford and was taken in for rehoming. Despite having a room to himself in the house, Barnaby was still very reactive to the other animals in the house and seemed to nip, swat, and bite those who crossed his path. We took him in to the sanctuary to give him some peace and address his behavior issues. While he was here, the vet discovered he has a painful condition called stomatitis. He needed to have several teeth removed and he’s been recovering well. He’s very playful and loves expending energy on feather toys. Getting exercise has helped reduce his anxiety a lot. But now that he’s settled in, he loves nothing more than a warm lap to snuggle on. He’s even made some kitty friends. This orange dude with the unique smile is the perfect lap cat.
