Background Story:
The cutest little noises and conversations come from our little Squeak!
Squeak is an 11-year-old sweetie pie that comes to us from a municipal shelter. Squeak lived in the same home most of her life, until recently when the family took in a pregnant female cat who started to bully and attack Squeak. She ended up with a large abscessed wound at the base of her tail and her tail eventually became dead. She was then surrendered to animal control where they worked quickly to schedule a surgery to amputate the tail. Given the surgery and recovery process, we welcomed Squeak to our Sanctuary to help with her healing journey. She’s already proved to be quite a sleuth and have found ways to remove her cone and go after her surgery site. But we know our Cat Team will work their magic once again to help Squeak have a smooth recovery, as well as feel safe and loved during her time with us. And yes, she does live up to her name and squeaks!
Squeak needed some extra time to settle in and recover from her tail amputation, but we could tell she would not let the previous injury slow her down! She kept her sweet and spunky nature even during recovery time. We had a few instances of finding Squeak going after her healing tail, or being a soft-cone ninja, but after time and creativity, her tail is officially healed. Due to her past experiences, she understandably has some nervous energy and can be on high-alert but she’s been easy to get to know and learn her cues so we don’t overwhelm her with affection! That being said, she’s incredibly social, playful, and snuggly! She rubs on anyone who comes to visit her in her room as a grateful introduction and talks to us in her darling squeaks. She is true to her name! Now it’s time for her to spread the love (and laughter) in a home of her own.
Adoption Info:
The cutest little noises and conversations come from our little Squeak! Petite 11-year-old, Squeak, is a darling tiger and white female cat who really does carry on the best conversations with her squeaks, meows, and trills! She was surrendered to local Animal Control with an untreated bite wound at the base of her tail, caused by a newer cat in the home who bullied little Squeak. Her tail was determined to be dead and partially amputated which is why our rescue took her in, and now her tail is fully healed. Luckily, she hasn’t let the trauma diminish her adorable and extremely social personality! She is playful and energetic, and can have nervous energy at times but this would make sense given her previous experiences. Watching Squeak, you can tell she has moments of being on high alert. She is easy to get to know and we have been able to quickly learn her cues and body language so we don’t overwhelm her with affection. Squeak obviously lived with cats in the past and has shown interest in meeting some new friends at our facility too! She may do well with another cat but we want to keep her past history in mind when creating a good personality match. A calm home without little kiddos will truly please this cutie!
