The $5 million campaign will result in creating New England's first large-scale pet rescue center and sanctuary for homeless pets who have no other place to turn. Modeled after Best Friends Sanctuary in Utah - the most renowned sanctuary in the world - this extraordinary resource for rehabilitation and adoption will transform the way in which homeless and abused animals are cared for.
On 43 acres in Ashford, the dream will include 16 rescue and adoption cottages for cats and dogs, a dog park, walking trails and social building.

At the Sanctuary, animals will be provided with an enriching, homelike environment where they will rehabilitate physically and emotionally from their past trauma. Once treated, these rescued animals will become great candidates for adoption.

The sanctuary’s rescue center will provide life-saving services like sophisticated behavioral rehabilitation, empathy and humane education for children.

The Ashford sanctuary will also bring together like-minded, animal-loving people.  This picturesque bucolic 43 acre site will serve as a resource center, meeting place and destination for pet lovers across New England.
