Limelight: Bailey (aka Pyewacket)
Bailey

Bailey, is a lovely, beautiful little soul. She is a young black kitty whose story begins with an all too familiar ring — that of being abandoned outside in the bitter cold winter months.

Last winter, little Bailey found herself alone and freezing outside an apartment complex. With her affection and charms, Bailey managed to capture the heart of one of the tenants who soon began feeding her. Although this tenant couldn't let her inside, she had the sound mind to call the Our Companions' Helpline for assistance.

It wasn't long and Bailey had a foster home and was receiving veterinary care. However, it became apparent that although sweet and responsive to people, her interaction with other cats was a totally different story. The foster home had 19 other cats which left Bailey a very unhappy little girl.

After a year of this less than ideal situation, a new foster home was found for Bailey. An Our Companions volunteer who doesn't have any pets (imagine!) shared their home with her!

After heavy promotion in the Hartford Courant, the perfect home finally materialized for Bailey. She not only has a new home with a couple in Farmington , CT (whose grown children have moved-out and with whom no other cats reside), but she has a new moniker — Pyewacket.

Pyewacket's new owners are convinced that she truly is a Halloween-spirited kitty as she loves to go bump in the night. She's having fun exploring her new digs, occupying warm laps, and playing the "chase-me" game. The family is delighted with their newest member, and Pyewacket is loving life these days.
