Adopt a Shelter

Each day healthy adoptable pets are euthanized in municipal animal shelters. Our Companions is committed to working with Animal Control Officers who have an interest in minimizing euthanasia.

Adopt a Shelter

Volunteers of Our Companions "Adopt a Shelter" by

  • Marketing their adoptable pets (building web sites, fliers, events, etc.)
  • Providing training resources (while in the shelter and follow up training for adopters)
  • Serving as an advocate for the shelter in the community

Our Companions is assisting the Animal Control Officer in the town of Windsor Locks to acquire funding and approval to replace the current inadequate shelter with a suitable shelter for homeless pets.
