The condition of animal welfare in Connecticut
is surprisingly primitive. Currently, healthy, adoptable pets are
euthanized on a daily basis in Connecticut's animal shelters. This
problem not only harms innocent animals, but also has a numbing
effect on our community.
Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary has researched other
states that have nearly achieved a 0% euthanasia rate among healthy,
adoptable pets and has identified the keys to their success.
Through this analysis Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary
has created a three-part mission to directly target the root causes
of pet homelessness in an effort to make Connecticut a state where
no healthy pets are destroyed. |
